WHICH BIN TIPS

Always in the green bin: paper towel

Paper towel can be composted by placing it in your green organics bin.

Paper towel is made from recycled, low-grade paper and cardboard and provide a good source of carbon – an important component of quality compost.

Paper and cardboard can be recycled a max of 6 to 7 times, and paper towels are at the end of their ability to be recycled. In the green bin, the material provides a good source of carbon – an important component of quality compost.

Paper towel should never be placed in your yellow recycling bin, as they are not suitable for this process. If your council does not accept paper towel in the green bin, or if you don't have access to a green bin, it has to go into your red or blue landfill bin.
