Millions of televisions, computers and mobile phones are discarded in Australia each year.
To prevent it ending up in landfill, the Federal Government introduced the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) in 2011. There are now more than 1,800 collection points across the country where householders and small businesses can drop off their unwanted televisions, computers and accessories for free.
Depending on the collection site, other electronic items may also be accepted such as toasters, hairdryers and whitegoods. It depends on the collection site. Please check with your local collection site as some fees may also apply.
